Painter Helper Job Description The Painter Helper supports the paint line by safely loading and unloading parts, inspecting product quality, and maintaining an organized, efficient work area in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role involves consistent physical activity, including lifting, bending, and twisting, while ensuring parts are handled correctly and prepared for transport. Responsibilities Load parts onto the conveyor belt in accordance with paint line requirements and production schedules. Arrange parts on carts using specified pallet patterns to ensure proper fit, stability, and efficient use of space. Perform visual quality inspections on parts before and after painting to identify flawed items that require rework or strip-painting. Complete and manage all associated paperwork accurately, including reorders, inspection forms, and part tracking documentation. Operate hoists and other material handling equipment safely to move parts and materials around the paint line. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe paint area by regularly removing debris and keeping tools and equipment in proper order. Memorize product line assembly patterns and part placements to load and unload efficiently and correctly. Securely strap larger parts to prevent movement or damage during transport and storage. Unload painted parts from the conveyor line and place them on carts in the correct order and configuration. Assemble parts by product line after painting, following established pallet patterns and placement techniques. Keep pace with the conveyor line to ensure continuous operation without unnecessary stops. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working around moving equipment and heavy materials. Essential Skills Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently throughout the shift. Comfort performing repetitive motions, including twisting, bending, pulling, and lifting for extended periods. Willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and keep up with conveyor belt speed. Attention to detail to identify paint flaws and quality issues on parts. Ability to learn and memorize product line assembly patterns and part placements. Capability to operate hoists and material handling equipment safely after training. Basic ability to complete and manage paperwork related to inspections, reorders, and part tracking. Willingness to work in a physically demanding, dirty, and hot environment without air conditioning. Six months of previous experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred but not required. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience working on a paint line as a loader, unloader, prep worker, or laborer. Experience in general labor or production roles in industrial or manufacturing settings. Experience securing and strapping large parts for safe transport. Work Environment This role is based in a fast-paced, physical manufacturing environment centered around a paint line and conveyor system. The facility can become very dirty due to the nature of paint and production processes, and employees should expect to be dirty by the end of the shift. The environment includes hoists and other material handling equipment, with safety procedures in place to ensure safe operation. Practical, durable work attire suitable for a dirty, hot, and industrial setting is necessary, and employees should be comfortable working in such conditions for the duration of their shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anoka, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
