The Assembler Team Leader supports day-to-day production activities while providing hands-on leadership to an assembly team. This position helps coordinate production schedules, material availability, employee training, quality, safety, reporting, and continuous improvement while remaining capable of assisting with production work as needed.
Monitor production schedules, order due dates, and material availability and promptly communicate potential shortages or delays.
Assist with new-hire orientation, on-the-job training, and cross-training of team members.
Help ensure labor and departmental production information is accurately reported.
Stage parts, paperwork, supplies, and materials at workstations to keep production moving efficiently.
Receive and visually inspect materials and help coordinate movement of completed products.
Monitor workmanship and ensure assembled products meet required quality standards.
Inspect and document parts, complete required checklists, and support standardized product testing where applicable.
Identify recurring production or quality problems and help implement practical corrective and continuous-improvement solutions.
Lead or support team meetings and communicate production, safety, quality, and workflow concerns.
Provide supervisory coverage and direction when delegated by production leadership.
Promote housekeeping, organized work areas, routine preventive maintenance, and safe work practices.
Strong knowledge of production workflow, quality expectations, safety practices, and material handling.
Ability to read production documents, monitor schedules, and recognize material or workflow problems before they affect output.
Strong communication, problem-solving, critical-thinking, and organizational skills.
Ability to train employees, provide clear direction, and support accountability in a production environment.
Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement, or similar manufacturing practices preferred.
Ability to perform hands-on production duties and safely work around industrial equipment and material-handling devices.
Must consistently follow PPE requirements, safe lifting practices, equipment procedures, and all workplace safety rules.
Must be able to stand and move for extended periods and perform the lifting, reaching, bending, and material-handling duties required for the position.
Must maintain dependable attendance, quality workmanship, productivity, and a team-oriented approach.

ESSENTIAL

Previous manufacturing or assembly experience with demonstrated leadership, lead-person, or supervisory capability.Strong knowledge of production workflow, quality expectations, safety practices, and material handling.

Strong communication, problem-solving, critical-thinking, and organizational skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
& EXPECTATIONSWork is performed in an industrial manufacturing environment and may involve noise, moving equipment, metal components, oils, dust, and changing temperatures.Must consistently follow PPE requirements, safe lifting practices, equipment procedures, and all workplace safety rules.
