Full Job Description Duties/Responsibilities:
(essential job functions in order of importance) Inspect, kit, install, and assemble components of fiber-optic medical products: optical fibers, ferrules, connectors, and packaging components.
Operate manufacturing test equipment:
fiber-optic strippers and cleavers, power meters, oscilloscopes, laser test stations, RFID readers, and microscopes.
Use bonding materials:
epoxies, glues, etc. Wear appropriate cleanroom attire, work in a controlled manufacturing area requiring coats, hair and beard nets, gloves, and booties. Use generic cleaning liquids (alcohol, isopropanol alcohol, acetone, etc.). Maintain cleanliness of work and common areas. Cross-train in production process or area as assigned by the Supervisor. Meet assigned production metrics as defined by the Supervisor. Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
LEVEL II
Perform basic setup, and troubleshooting of equipment as needed. Train other assemblers as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
Perform light manufacturing and use of assembly equipment, such as ultrasonic welder, soldering stations, optical fiber cutters/strippers, screwdrivers, tape measure, wrenches, and other small hand tools. Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel files. Microscope experience preferred.
LEVEL II
Minimum of 1-2 Years of related assembly experience. Perform tasks and carries out successive steps of routine work in accordance with instructions provided by the supervisor, policies, and procedures; requires instructions only on new assignments.
