Fabrication Supervisor Job Description The Fabrication Supervisor - 2nd Shift is responsible for leading the second shift Fabrication Department by promoting a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. This role involves supervising the operation of metal working machinery to assist in the fabrication of steel products. The supervisor must be adept at operating all CNC equipment, including lasers, press brakes, lathes, mills, and plasma cutters. Additionally, the position oversees daily production operations, ensures production schedules are achieved, develops employees through coaching and performance management, and supports Lean Manufacturing initiatives while maintaining high standards of safety, productivity, and workmanship. Responsibilities Ensure department meets daily objectives in safety, on-time delivery, accurate employee documentation, quality, and physical inventory. Conduct performance evaluations and manage discipline of departmental associates. Ensure all parts are accounted for and properly processed before moving job orders to the next department. Follow block schedule to ensure timely completion of job orders. Maintain inventory of materials and parts needed for production. Coordinate with the Buyer/Planner to manage inbound materials and inventory organization. Understand proper set-up of all equipment in the Fabrication department. Ensure employees have necessary materials, parts, and tools. Operate equipment in a steel fabrication environment safely and reasonably. Essential Skills Proven leadership and supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of fabrication processes and CNC equipment. Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and with external partners. Strong leadership skills to coach, motivate, develop, and hold employees accountable. Additional Skills & Qualifications Degree from a two-year college or technical school preferred. 2 years of related experience and/or training in the assigned department. Ability to read blueprints and understand geometric tolerances. Lean Manufacturing experience preferred. Why Work Here? Utilizing state-of-the-art solid modeling design software and CAD/CAM processes, we ensure quality production through CNC laser cutting, CNC press brake, CNC turret punch, CNC sawing, CNC mill, and robotic welding. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $70720.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
