PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR I
(2nd SHIFT 3:30 pm - 12:00 am) This is a three-month contract-to-hire position. If selected, you will need to apply with Express Pro's Temp Agency in Oxnard, CA.
Overview :
Responsible for the throughput of products through department.
Responsibilities :
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Supervises, guides and coordinates production utilizing reports driven by demand to ensure on-time delivery Maintains production schedules and follow-ups Maintains 6s sustainability and visuals that provide direction, goals, and status to the floor. Supervises, directs, and maintains records for training to accomplish skills sets required for production and processes Plans, controls, and monitors materials in production for their timely use, reasonable quantity and validity Evaluates and completes performance evaluations Participates in interview and hiring process Maintains and enforces all PPE and safety requirements Responsible for accountability and disciplinary action Encourages, supports, and actively participates in kaizen improvements and events Responsible for the organization and flow in their areas of responsibility Maintains, leads, and teaches all required Gemba, Sustainability, Safety, FOD, Quality Clinic, and communication boards and daily reporting Analyzes and resolves process issues Coordinates and executes expedite requirements Additional responsibilities and projects, as assigned Complies with all company policies, procedures and safety rules
Education, Skills and Experience Requirements:
Minimum 3+ years' experience in Production environment with practical knowledge of part builds Extensive knowledge of all product lines and materials within department Functional knowledge of all equipment and machinery used within department Blueprint Certified and understanding the application of specs, and production related documents Ability to read manufacturing orders, mylars/specifications (internal and external) Ability to co-lead a Kaizen event Thorough understanding of processes that effect D labor, overtime, and productivity Must have verbal and written command of the English language with the ability to communicate with all levels of team, management and Engineering Ability to mentor Section Leaders Proficient at MS office Good math skills 10-key skills by sight Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to multi-task Ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks with constant interruptions
Attendance Requirements:
Ability to work a 40-hour work week, maintain regular attendance and be available to work overtime, as needed
Other Skills and Abilities :
Have good visual acuity and the ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and perform repetitive tasks. Must be able to work on multiple concurrent projects and adjust to the changing demands of the workload while maintaining integrity. Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
Physical Demands:
This position works in a production environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods of time. The employee is frequently required to use hand/finger manipulation, handle, push, pull, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 30 pounds, with assistance, when necessary. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment according to the Safety and Awareness Program and be prequalified to work defense projects, per State Department ITAR regulations.
Salary Range:
$30.02 -$40.18 hourly. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. Hi-Temp Insulation is an
