Shift Department:
Operations An experienced and results-driven Manufacturing Shift Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our rubber production facility. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of rubber processing techniques. In addition to production planning, quality control, safety compliance, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and supervise all rubber manufacturing operations to ensure timely production and delivery. Manage the entire production cycle including mixing, extrusion, molding, curing, and finishing. Implement and maintain manufacturing best practices to ensure high-quality output and minimal waste. Monitor and optimize plant performance through KPIs (efficiency, yield, downtime, etc.). Develop and lead a team of production supervisors, technicians, and operators. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations (HSE). Work closely with Quality Assurance and R D for process improvement and new product development. Prepare and manage departmental budgets and cost-saving initiatives. Coordinate with maintenance department on maintaining machinery and equipment through regular preventive maintenance programs. Evaluate and implement new technologies or upgrades to improve productivity. Coordinate with supply chain for raw material procurement and inventory control.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Rubber Technology, or a related field. 5 years of experience in rubber manufacturing, with a managerial/supervisory role. Strong knowledge of rubber compounding, molding (compression, injection, transfer), and curing processes. Familiarity with
ISO 9001, IATF
16949, AS9100 or other relevant quality management systems. Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. Proficient in production planning software and MS Office tools. Bilingual (English/Spanish) Other relevant Qualifications that maybe included:
Safety & Compliance:
OSHA/HSE
leadership, incident investigations, Lockout/Tagout, and safety program management.
Supply Chain:
Inventory control, supplier coordination, and material planning.
Production Planning:
Capacity planning, scheduling, labor planning, and on-time delivery.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in automotive, aerospace, industrial, or specialty rubber product manufacturing. Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification is a plus. Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SYSPRO and Oracle).
Work Environment:
Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to machinery, heat, and noise. May require occasional extended hours or weekend work during production peaks.
