Track:
Planned quantities Actual quantities Daily production variance Manpower by crew/workfront Remaining quantities Constraints and blockers Material status Workfront readiness Recovery actions Ensure reporting accurately represents field conditions and provides the Superintendent with reliable information for decision-making. Identify trends in productivity performance and communicate concerns before they become schedule impacts. Support shift-to-shift reporting and handoffs when projects operate multiple shifts. Schedule Planning & Look-Ahead Development Partner directly with the Superintendent to translate the project schedule into executable field plans. Provide detailed field-level input into 1- 2• 3• and 4-week look-ahead planning.
Identify and actively manage:
Material constraints Access limitations Trade dependencies Design or drawing questions Equipment availability Testing requirements Safety restrictions Quality holds Incomplete predecessor work Customer or GC restrictions Resolve constraints at the Field Supervisor level whenever possible. Escalate unresolved constraints to the Superintendent promptly with the expected impact and recommended action. Ensure constraints are documented in applicable trackers or planning tools. Follow through on escalated constraints until resolution is confirmed. Communication, Coordination & Escalation Serve as the primary field communication link between Lead Technicians and the Superintendent. Conduct routine coordination with Lead Technicians throughout the shift. Provide the Superintendent with accurate, concise updates regarding: Production status Manpower Schedule performance Material readiness Constraints Quality Safety Recovery actions Upcoming work Escalate issues early rather than after production or schedule impacts have occurred. Coordinate professionally with Quality, Safety, Logistics, Project Controls, Engineering, other trades, and customer/GC field representatives as required. Participate in field coordination meetings and customer walks when directed. Maintain professional communication and represent E2 Optics appropriately in all field interactions. Leadership & Workforce Development Directly lead, coach, and develop assigned Lead Technicians. Establish clear performance expectations and hold Leads accountable for safety, quality, production, reporting, and crew leadership. Spend time in the field observing Lead performance and providing real-time coaching. Identify Lead Technicians capable of increased scope or future advancement. Identify performance or capability gaps and communicate development needs to the Superintendent. Support development of future Field Supervisors by expanding responsibilities of high-performing Leads. Promote consistent leadership standards across all assigned crews. Support onboarding and integration of new field personnel into established crews and work processes. High school diploma or GED required. Associate's or technical degree in Construction Management, Telecommunications, Network Infrastructure, or related field preferred. Relevant industry and manufacturer training strongly preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in structured cabling, telecommunications, mission critical, data center, or related construction environments. Hyperscale or large data center experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience leading multiple crews or workfronts in a fast-paced construction environment. Demonstrated experience planning work, tracking production, managing manpower, and coordinating materials. Experience reading and executing against construction schedules and look-ahead plans. Proven ability to lead through subordinate field leaders rather than directly managing every craft activity. Certifications — PreferredOSHA 30 BICSI
Technician BICSI Installer 2 Copper and/or FiberBICSI RTPM FOA
CFOT or equivalent fiber certification First Aid / CPR MEWP / Aerial Lift Certification Manufacturer-specific certifications applicable to project scope Customer-specific technical qualifications as applicable Lean Construction / Last Planner System training preferred Strong understanding of hyperscale data center construction and structured cabling systems. Strong understanding of field production, manpower loading, sequencing, and workfront planning. Ability to direct multiple Lead Technicians and crews simultaneously. Ability to translate schedule activities into executable daily and weekly work plans. Working knowledge of construction scheduling concepts, dependencies, milestones, and look-ahead planning. Ability to assist with 1- 2• 3• and 4-week look-ahead development.
