Blending Supervisor

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Blending Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all shift operations within the Blending Department, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production processes. This role leads employees, manages workflow, and ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards. The Blending Supervisor must understand the complexity of blending operations, optimize daily activities, and align team performance with departmental and company objectives, including employee development. This position plays a critical role in supporting overall production success.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Communicate daily, weekly, and monthly goals, expectations, and performance metrics to team members. Enforce all company safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures. Lead pre-shift meetings and ensure completion of all required safety training. Oversee production and blending schedules to ensure product readiness for production and bulk shipments. Monitor employee performance to ensure adherence to procedures; provide coaching, feedback, and recognition. Investigate safety incidents, environmental events, and quality issues; ensure proper documentation and corrective action. Prepare and submit required reports, including end-of-shift reports, incident/accident reports, and non-conformance reports. Identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements, including updating procedures when necessary. Manage employee schedules, staffing, and training to meet operational demands and company goals. Collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and plant personnel. Hold employees accountable to company policies, procedures, and performance expectations in a timely and consistent manner. Support and develop team members through coaching, training, and performance management.
Required Skills:
Strong leadership and team management capabilities Excellent time management and decision-making skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to analyze problems and implement practical solutions Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer systems Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Education and Experience:
Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or fast-paced environment preferred Experience in blending, production operations, or process manufacturing preferred Willingness and ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds Ability to bend, kneel, squat, and reach in an industrial environment Ability to work in conditions that may include heat, cold, noise, and exposure to odors Ability to operate, monitor, and troubleshoot equipment as needed Ability to climb stairs and ladders to access elevated work areas Visual and auditory ability to monitor operations and ensure safety compliance Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, and hearing protection Omni Specialty Packaging is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
