Production Foreman

Job Description

Production Foreman - Precast Concrete Manufacturing Position Overview A leading precast concrete manufacturer is seeking an experienced Production Foreman to lead production activities within an industrial precast manufacturing facility. The Production Foreman will work closely with the Plant Manager to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production while coordinating employees, equipment, materials, and daily manufacturing priorities. This position will also serve as the Acting Production Manager when the Plant Manager is absent . The ideal candidate has hands-on precast concrete production experience, strong leadership skills, a commitment to safety and quality, and the ability to drive continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate daily production activities in a precast concrete manufacturing environment. Perform and oversee the production of precast concrete products. Assign and delegate tasks to production personnel as needed. Coordinate production schedules and priorities with the Plant Manager. Promote continuous improvement initiatives designed to increase efficiency and reduce production costs. Implement and maintain product quality control measures. Follow and enforce company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Maintain a safe, clean, and environmentally responsible production facility. Monitor equipment maintenance activities and tracking to minimize production interruptions. Initiate requisitions for parts, materials, and supplies needed for production. Determine whether production employees possess the skills and training necessary to perform assigned work. Participate in the hiring, training, evaluation, and disciplinary processes for production personnel. Provide input for employee performance reviews. Develop and encourage employee involvement and suggestion programs. Prepare preliminary incident reports when workplace accidents occur. Attend management meetings and other relevant production meetings. Maintain professional development and stay current with industry education and standards, including
NPCA PQS
courses. Perform other production and supervisory duties as needed. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience in precast concrete production/manufacturing . Previous supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Strong understanding of production processes, quality systems, and industry standards. Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements. Working knowledge of manufacturing machinery, tools, and equipment. Ability to read blueprints and sketches and follow written and verbal instructions. Comfortable working with mathematics and applying mathematical concepts to practical production solutions. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel . Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear, concise instructions. Ability to effectively communicate with employees, management, and other stakeholders. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Valid driver's license. Self-motivated, energetic, and results-oriented leadership style. Supervisory Responsibilities This position assists the Production Manager with the supervision of production employees and assumes Production Manager responsibilities in the manager's absence . Regular exposure to manufacturing equipment, materials, noise, dust, and varying environmental conditions. Required to follow all facility safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times. Physical Requirements Ability to perform physical activities involving frequent use of arms and legs and movement of the entire body. Ability to climb, lift, balance, walk, stoop, bend, and handle materials. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds . Ability to safely work at heights of up to 10 feet .
