Job Description

Work Schedule Second Shift (Afternoons) Environmental Conditions Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Strong Odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products etc.) Job Description As part of the Thermo Fisher Scientific team, you'll discover meaningful work that makes a positive impact on a global scale. Schedule:
Monday-Friday, with some weekend work required
Hours:
2:30pm-11pm
DESCRIPTION
Commitment to safety, by following site safety procedures and enforcing safety PPE requirements on the production floor. Ability to report hazards, near misses, and incidents. Enforce quality standards with the production operators, including adherence to cGMP standards, procedure adherence, and formula specifications met. Assign work activities for daily production. Enforce schedule pacing and adherence. Investigate and report deviations related to the manufacturing formulas and yield variances. Coordinate with production scheduler on schedule misses. Build effective teams through leadership, training, performance management, and career development. Perform batch record review and ERP transactions for production related activities. Maintain shift log that provides direct written communication to the subsequent shifts pertaining to special instructions and information. Actively contribute to 5S and PPI efforts within the production area. Maintain departmental Key Performance Indicator metrics. Train and document new colleagues or current colleagues in new skills or retraining; including safety, quality, and SOPs. Review and maintain accurate quality records as they relate to production. This includes cleaning logs, chart records, PM related documents, etc. Active contribution to resolving unplanned deviations. Use of RCA tools such as 5-why and fishbones.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of manufacturing experience, with 2+ years in a supervisory/leadership role
Preferred Fields of Study:
Engineering, Science, Business or related technical field
  • Experience in GMP/ISO regulated manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and develop talent through coaching, training and performance management
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision making capabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate effectively across functions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and manufacturing software
  • Experience managing production schedules, workflows, and resource planning
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, quality systems, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment, including ability to handle chemical smells
  • Physical requirements may include standing, lifting up to 25 lbs, and wearing PPE
