Job Title:
Production Supervisor Job Description This role oversees and coordinates the daily activities of production and operating workers to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing. The Production Supervisor leads a team on the shop floor, drives continuous improvement in processes and methods, and ensures that production goals, quality standards, and compliance requirements are consistently met. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers to meet production targets and quality standards. Recommend and implement measures to motivate employees and improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and overall efficiency. Review daily operations and collaborate with technical and administrative staff to identify and resolve production or processing issues. Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems to monitor performance and detect production problems early. Analyze production, quality control, and maintenance data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for process improvement. Hire, train, evaluate, and, when necessary, discharge staff in alignment with company policies and procedures. Address and resolve personnel issues and grievances in a fair and timely manner. Prepare, maintain, and review production reports, ensuring accurate documentation of output, downtime, and performance metrics. Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel records related to attendance, performance, training, and other relevant information. Ensure safe operation of machines and tools and promote adherence to safety procedures and guidelines on the production floor. Essential Skills Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey instructions and feedback to production staff. High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills to identify and address production and quality issues. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced production environment. In-depth knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control methods used in manufacturing. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, operation, use, repair, and maintenance. Understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, and drawings. Production supervision experience with demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team on the production floor. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in production, manufacturing, or a closely related field. High school diploma or GED. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate's degree in business or a related field is preferred. Experience implementing and managing production tracking systems and quality control processes. Experience in supervising or coordinating production teams in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Familiarity with maintenance practices and coordination of equipment repairs. Ability to document and report production metrics and personnel information accurately and consistently. Why Work Here? This is a contract position in the United States, and work hours may align with standard production shifts depending on operational needs. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wentzville, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $36.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
