Production Supervisor -
Plastics Lexington, NC Shifts:
1st, 2nd, 3rd Start date: ASAP Pay rate: $30-$40p/h The Opportunity We are recruiting for an experienced Shift Supervisor to join a well-established manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who can drive production performance, maintain high quality standards, and support the development of production teams within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Manufacturing/Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all production activities during your shift, ensuring productivity, quality, safety, and housekeeping standards are consistently achieved. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate all production activities across your assigned shift. Monitor production output, efficiency, downtime, and quality performance. Ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining operational standards. Lead, motivate, and support production personnel to maximise performance. Manage employee attendance, timekeeping, and day-to-day personnel matters. Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching, training, and development support. Investigate and resolve production issues, escalating where necessary. Ensure all quality procedures and manufacturing processes are followed. Authorise and oversee process changes in line with company procedures. Work closely with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve production concerns. Monitor and reduce scrap, waste, and inefficiencies. Ensure all work instructions and operating procedures remain current and are followed correctly. Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements. Conduct safety briefings, audits, and workplace inspections. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, implementing corrective actions where required. Maintain high housekeeping standards throughout the production area. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and cost reduction. Produce and maintain accurate shift reports and production records. Communicate effectively during shift handovers and across departments. Candidate Requirements Previous experience in a Shift Supervisor, Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Supervisor, or similar leadership role. Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of production processes, quality standards, and health & safety requirements. Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Experience managing performance, attendance, and employee relations issues. Ability to analyse production data and drive improvements. Forklift certification would be advantageous. Continuous improvement experience would be beneficial. What's on Offer Competitive salary.
