PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

Reports to the Director of Manufacturing. Salaried position - Weekdays- Day shift

Summary:

Responsible to supervise, instruct, train and coach the hourly personnel in all aspects of the job, including the proper techniques, work instructions, production methods, quality assurance and plant operations. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise production staff which includes but not limited to; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing and resolving problems.
• Work with other departments to meet production and shipping schedules
• Promotes communication and teamwork with a focus on quality, efficiency and good housekeeping throughout the plant.
• Assures that customer's products are processed in accordance with instructions and programs designed by the Manufacturing department and that all customer's products meet the specification and quality requirements.
• Assists in planning labor requirements, adjusting as necessary to maintain flexibility in order to meet customer needs as well as keeping labor costs and labor rate within the guidelines set forth by the Director of Manufacturing.
• Administers the policies of the company as set forth in the handbook as it relates to supervision of the employees.
• Presents improvement ideas relating to the job such as methods, procedures, techniques, housekeeping, preventative maintenance, safety, quality, and other related improvements.
• Must complete the required schedules and reports.
• Promotes employee safety and positive morale.
• Identify problems and potential solutions by viewing drawings.
• Set up work in a safe and efficient manner.

Management Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience in a supervisory role in a wood and/or metal products manufacturing environment.
• 5+ years in an industrial manufacturing environment required.
• Proven troubleshooting and problem solving abilities.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools highly desirable.
• Proven leadership and facilitation skills.
• Metal and wood fabrication experience.
• Flexibility - the ability to work flexible/additional hours to meet demands of production.
• Ability to work without direct supervision and make appropriate decisions.
• Punctual.
• Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent GED, Associates Degree in Management or other related discipline preferred. 5 plus years of supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

$75,000.00 per year
