Job Description

Our client, a large and growing organization in the energy and industrial sector, is seeking a Plant Accounting Supervisor to lead a team responsible for accounting activities that support plant operations in the Oklahoma City area. This position offers the opportunity to oversee critical accounting functions, contribute to operational decision-making, and drive process improvements within a dynamic environment. Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze and interpret complex midstream contracts and commercial agreements to ensure correct settlement with producers and shippers.

Review customer settlement calculations and adjustments assisting in customer disputes and revenue-related issues.

Maintain and strengthen SOX controls over revenue processes by developing standardized procedures and documentation.

Lead and manage the monthly close process for plant and operational accounting activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and other supporting documentation to maintain the integrity of financial records.

Oversee general ledger activity and investigate variances, discrepancies, and unusual transactions.

Analyze operational and financial data to provide meaningful insights to leadership and support business decisions.

Collaborate with operations, finance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure accurate accounting treatment of plant-related transactions.

Support internal and external audit activities, including preparing documentation and responding to audit inquiries.

Monitor compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.

Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.

Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance efficiency, and leverage technology to strengthen accounting operations.

Prepare and present financial analyses, reports, and account summaries to management.
