  • VS PS Production and Pipeline Specialist
  • YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • You will plan and coordinate agricultural production operations and product quality assurance.
You will serve as the primary field contact and provide technical support for seed and crop production, soil management, and pest control. You will coordinate the warehousing and delivery of agricultural products while monitoring and reporting on volume, harvest periods, and grain delivery according to plan. You will supervise fieldwork and plant operations and prepare reports for production and plant management. You may also be responsible for financial results, including achieving profit and grain volume goals. In this role, you will develop and implement strategies and projects to increase efficiency and optimize processes. You will research methods to maximize crop production, coordinate pest management programs, document field evaluations of seeds, chemicals, specialty products, and fertilizers, and conduct experiments to maximize plant nutrients and improve soil health. The primary responsibilities of this role, Vegetable Seed Product Supply Production and Pipeline Specialist, are to: + Defines pre-commercial strategy and oversees Product Supply Pipeline from R D Parent Seed hand off to product launch; ensuring requirements are met for Foundation Seed increases, core descriptor and producibility data, seed quantity, number of lines, timing, and quality for Pepper & Eggplant crops; + Be responsible for representing Product Supply in Phase/Product Advancements recommendations; + Collaborate with Seed Production Research to plan and execution of producibility trials at PCM2/3 stages, then analyzes and utilizes trial data to provide an estimate of COGM and reliability, enabling a go/no-go vote for phase/product advancement decisions in the Candidate List Meeting. + Build the Pre-commercial Pipeline plan through strong collaboration and communication with Portfolio Leads, R D, Foundation Seed teams and Crop Team. + Provide Precommercial Pipeline plan to Future Year, Parent Seed Planner and Crop Placement Coordinator to ensure clear communication of timelines and deliverables to be executed by the PS Crop Team in the following cycle. + Ensure timely decision making and communication on Precommercial inventory utilization, phase ins and outs; + Provide initial crop placement and base rate recommendations for new Phase 4 materials; + Perform an annual review of the Material Advancement Plan (MAP) for the crop family to ensure all pre-commercial seed production milestones are up to date and in full alignment with R D Hand-off and Market Development crop cycles; + Provides prescriptive direction on production for Phase 4a materials; + Actively participates in the review of the crop family strategy by providing recommendations to drive changes in terms of seed reliability, quality and cost; + Collaborate with local Production Specialists to create or modify production protocols to optimize reliability whilst meeting the needs of the local climate and agronomic practices; + Develop and maintain parental and variety profiles necessary for reliable parental identification and production of commercial and parental materials in close collaboration with breeders, production research and seed production teams to outline the information required for production areas to reliably produce vegetable seed commercial and parental materials; + Foster best practice sharing and knowledge exchange among production areas to increase reliability, quality and cost effectiveness; + Develop local Seed Production Specialists; + Shares customer and business relevant information around materials with local production areas to promote a customer centric mindset; + Gain knowledge of agronomic innovations; + Ensure continuous improvement and best practice sharing across production areas, partnering with them on new technology implementation; + Utilize the digital and analytics toolbox to determine and address improvement opportunities across global production geographies; + Develop and propose Production Research trials aligned with crop family strategy; + Maintain Seed Production Work Instructions/recipes (Global Crop Family Production Manual), including agronomic standard requirements; + Partner with Conditioning and Processing teams to provide post-harvest processing guidance, where relevant.

  • Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or a related field; + Deep understanding of breeding and seed production practices; + VACC Competencies and behaviors; + Business understanding and acumen; + Enterprise mindset to provide balanced approach of cost-effective supply towards a confirmed demand; + High level of negotiation skills with ability to influence internal team and external partners and stakeholders; + High emotional intelligence; + Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication; + Ability to travel 20-35% of the time; + Valid Driver's license and eligibility to drive a company car or pooled vehicle (driving record must meet guidelines based on the company's Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers and MVR will be reviewed as part of pre-employment screening); + Ability to travel 20-35% of the time globally.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master's Degree; + 8+ years of experience in the Seed Production industry. This posting will be available for application until at least September 22, 2026. Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $119,520.00 to $179,280.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
