Job Description

Summary/Objective The Foam Encased/Glue PT Operator performs all tasks involved in the production of mattress products as assigned by the Plant Manager and/or Production Supervisor. The operator assembles mattresses in accordance with the production schedule, produces Foam Core and Foam Encased mattresses, and performs gluing of Pillow Tops when needed. Assembles Foam Core and Foam Encased mattresses according to specifications to complete pieces in an efficient, fast-paced, and accurate manner. The operator follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible in support of production goals and company values. 1st shift: 7:30am - 4:00pm + overtime and Saturday as needed. Essential Functions Prepares the work area by setting up the glue station for operation and stocking supplies according to the daily production workload. Follows the appropriate production schedule and current manufacturing procedures to produce mattresses. Assembles Foam Core or Foam Encased mattresses using the correct components according to specifications and assembles them with hot melt or water-based adhesive while working within a team operation or in combination with other employees as needed or instructed. Completes any necessary paperwork or production-related documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Achieves or exceeds daily production and quality goals. Complies with all department and workplace safety rules. Reports machine problems outside of the operator's capability to correct to the Production Supervisor or Plant Manager. Maintains a clean work area and completes daily area clean-up tasks at the end of the shift. Properly disposes of trash and scrap at the end of the shift and as often as needed. Notifies the Production Supervisor of any mechanical or material issues. Performs other duties as assigned. Ability to grip, push, pull, and reach above shoulder level with both hands. While performing duties, the operator will regularly be required to stand, walk, stoop, and bend to operate equipment. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE). Prior assembly or manufacturing experience preferred. Good hand-eye coordination. Strong attention to detail. Ability to plan and organize tasks effectively. Good time management skills. Cooperative, team-oriented, patient, calm under pressure, and able to work independently. Ability to function in a fast-paced environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations. Excellent organizational skills. Strong attention to detail. Bilingual preferred but not required. Excellent communication skills.
Pay:
$17.00 per hour
