Job Description
Shift Supervisor / Production Team Lead - 3rd Shift NSK is seeking a Shift Supervisor / Production Team Lead to work 3rd Shift and fill the Unit Coordinator C position at our Hub plant in Franklin, IN. The purpose of this position is to coordinate team efforts toward meeting safety, quality, production, and cost goals. This position will serve as the primary person responsible for coordinating and supporting all line or shift activity. Lead team members by embracing the principles of lean manufacturing and 5s standardization.
Responsibilities:
Direct and coordinate the activities of team members engaged in the production line. Enforce all safety and quality standards.Communicate:
Keep team members informed, before and during each shift, of all safety, quality, production, manning, and line condition updates. Coordinate with other supervisors on operations and activities within or between departments.Discuss with management:
Quality Concerns Production Status Equipment & Line Issues Team Member problems, complaints, or grievances. Areas for improvement Quality Concerns Production Status Equipment & Line Issues Team Member problems, complaints, or grievances. Areas for improvement Plan, Check and Confirm Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals. Observe work and monitor activity to ensure that team members uphold all plant standards. Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs. Utilize 5s and Lean production principles to improve standard operating procedures.Qualifications:
This job requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 4 to 6 years of position-related experience; the preferred formal education is a Technical Diploma or associate degree and 6 to 8 years of position-related experience H.S. Diploma /Completed GED Preferred:
Experience or exposure to 5s and Lean Manufacturing principles. Experience in Supervisory role.
