JUNIOR PHOTO PRODUCTION SPECIALIST
Courtney Rose Studios Lexington, KY Job Details Full-time $18
  • $20 an hour 14 hours ago Qualifications Adobe Photoshop Image processing Adobe Lightroom Color correction editing Digital photography software Photo editing Artistic color correction File organization Full Job Description Rose Haus Fine Art Portraits is seeking a Junior Photo Production Specialist to support the post-production workflow for our high-volume fine art portrait studio.
This is an entry-level production role designed for someone with approximately 1-2 years of experience working with Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, and portrait retouching who wants to develop their skills in a professional photography environment. The primary responsibility of this position is to move client portrait sessions efficiently and accurately through Rose Haus's established editing and retouching workflow using Adobe Lightroom and Evoto, while maintaining the polished, consistent Rose Haus visual standard. This is not a creative photographer position and is not primarily a high-end Photoshop retouching role. It is a production-focused position where consistency, efficiency, attention to detail, organization, and the ability to follow an established visual standard are critical. Key Responsibilities
  • Photo Editing & Production Process portrait sessions through Rose Haus's established post-production workflow.
Import, organize, manage, and prepare RAW image files in Adobe Lightroom. Apply Rose Haus's established Lightroom profiles, presets, colour treatments, and editing standards. Review images for exposure, white balance, colour consistency, cropping, and overall presentation. Use Evoto as part of Rose Haus's portrait-retouching workflow. Apply standardized portrait and skin-retouching treatments while maintaining natural-looking results. Ensure consistency across complete client galleries rather than treating each photograph independently. Perform basic Photoshop work when required. Prepare and export finished files according to Rose Haus's required specifications. Maintain proper file naming, folder structure, catalogue organization, and image-management procedures. Quality Control Review completed galleries before moving them to the next stage of the post-production workflow. Identify obvious editing inconsistencies, missed retouching, export problems, or file issues. Ensure finished images meet Rose Haus's established visual and technical standards. Correct routine issues independently. Escalate images requiring advanced Photoshop work, unusual retouching, or creative judgment to a senior post-production team member. Follow client-specific editing notes, including requested image selections, retouching preferences, and any approved production instructions, accurately. Workflow & Productivity Complete assigned sessions within established post-production timelines. Maintain expected daily and weekly production volume as proficiency develops. Keep assigned work current and communicate early when deadlines may be at risk. Accurately update post-production tracking systems as work moves through the workflow. Prioritize work according to post-production deadlines and instructions from the Lead Editor / Production Manager. Help maintain an organized and predictable editing pipeline during high-volume periods. File & Asset Management Maintain accurate Lightroom catalogues and client file structures. Follow Rose Haus's procedures for RAW files, working files, exports, and finished client artwork. Ensure files are saved and exported to the correct locations. Follow established backup and file-handling procedures. Protect client privacy, confidential imagery, and all client files at all times. Required Experience & Skills Approximately 1-2 years of practical Adobe Lightroom experience. Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop. Previous experience editing or retouching portrait photography. Understanding of RAW image processing. Basic understanding of exposure, colour correction, white balance, cropping, and tonal adjustments. Familiarity with portrait and skin retouching. Strong computer and file-management skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to follow an established editing style rather than imposing a personal style. Ability to perform repetitive production work while maintaining consistency. Ability to work efficiently without sacrificing quality. Ability to receive feedback and quickly apply corrections to future work. Evoto experience is an asset but is not required. Training can be provided to someone with strong Lightroom and portrait-editing fundamentals. What Success Looks Like Produces consistently edited galleries that match the Rose Haus standard. Becomes increasingly efficient as they learn the workflow. Makes very few preventable post-production errors. Requires progressively less supervision and correction. Keeps files and Lightroom catalogues organized. Completes assigned work within expected timelines. Notices problems before work reaches the client. Follows editing and production notes and instructions carefully. Asks questions when something is unclear rather than guessing. Responds well to feedback and demonstrates measurable improvement. Can eventually take ownership of routine session preparation from beginning to end. What This Role Is Not Managing the Post-Production department. Making final decisions about Rose Haus's visual style. Advanced beauty retouching or compositing beyond the employee's demonstrated skill level. Client communication or resolving client concerns unless specifically assigned. Artwork ordering or lab management unless trained and assigned. Managing other Production employees. Deciding post-production priorities independently. The role is designed to provide reliable execution within an established Rose Haus post-production system while creating an opportunity to develop stronger professional retouching and production skills. Growth Opportunity This position is intended to be an entry point into Rose Haus's post-production department. As the employee develops stronger technical skills, speed, judgment, accuracy, and understanding of the Rose Haus workflow, there is opportunity to take on more advanced retouching and production responsibilities.
