First Shift (6:00 AM

•2:30 PM, Monday-Friday; occasional 10-hour shifts or weekend overtime as needed) Looking for a hands-on role with a growing, safety-focused manufacturing team right here in Gladwin? Spherion is seeking Machine Operators, Assemblers, and Industrial Sewers for a prime manufacturer in Gladwin County. We prioritize a clean, supportive work environment where employee safety comes first, and we empower our team members to grow, learn new skills, and succeed. A background using basic hand tools and ability to read a ruler to 1/16 of an inch is desired.

Responsibilities:

Assemble mechanical components, run basic wiring, process parts, and operate shop machinery (such as drills, mills, or saws).

Set up and operate industrial sewing machines, lay out and cut fabrics using shop drawings, and manage thread/machine maintenance.

Read basic manufacturing prints, schematics, and work instructions to ensure accurate assembly dimensions and part locations.

Safely utilize hand tools, pneumatic air guns, air staplers, and semi-automatic manufacturing equipment.

Inspect finished products for quality, prep orders for shipment, maintain a clean workspace, and strictly follow all PPE and safety guidelines.

Cross-train across departments and collaborate with team members to hit production goals.

Skills:

Basic reading, writing, and math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions).

Reliable, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, twist, and reach.

Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. as needed.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old with a High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch.
• Familiarity with basic hand tools and pneumatic equipment (e.g., air staplers, air guns).
