Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shear Operator to join a manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating industrial shearing equipment to cut sheet metal and other materials accurately and efficiently. Your expertise in machine operation, measurement, and safety standards will ensure high-quality production output. Key Responsibilities Operate a shear to cut and prepare materials according to production specifications Perform hands-on fabrication using jigsaws, drills, and other hand and power tools Measure and inspect materials for accuracy Read and follow measurements, drawings, and production specifications Set up and safely operate fabrication equipment Inspect finished products to ensure quality and accuracy Perform material preparation and handling as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow all company safety and quality procedures Assist with additional fabrication and production duties as needed Qualifications Previous experience operating a shear preferred Manufacturing, fabrication, or mechanical experience preferred Comfortable using hand and power tools, including drills and jigsaws Ability to accurately read a tape measure and work with measurements Strong attention to detail Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to work overtime as needed Who we are PMC Works, a veteran-owned subsidiary of The PMC Group, delivers customized workforce solutions with the personalized attention of a boutique firm and the proven track record of an industry leader.
