Job Overview Northern Staffing Services of Petoskey, Michigan is currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Planner to join a well-established local chocolate manufacturing company. This 1st shift position plays an important role in coordinating production schedules, managing material needs, monitoring inventory, and helping ensure production runs smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have experience in production planning, scheduling, inventory coordination, or supply chain operations and be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Starting Pay:
$24.00/hour Essential Functions Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on customer demand and inventory levels Utilize ERP systems and planning tools to monitor and adjust production activities Coordinate with supply chain and production teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components Monitor production progress, identify potential bottlenecks, and assist with solutions to improve workflow Analyze production data to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and support lean manufacturing principles Forecast material requirements and assist with effective inventory management Support continuous improvement initiatives related to processes, productivity, and quality Maintain accurate documentation of production plans, scheduling changes, and related activities Communicate effectively across production, supply chain, and management teams Adapt to changing customer demand, material availability, and operational priorities Qualifications Associate degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field OR 1-3 years of relevant experience in production planning, scheduling, inventory coordination, or a similar role Understanding of production workflows, material planning, and inventory processes Previous experience in manufacturing, production planning, or operations Familiarity with ERP systems, scheduling tools, or production data preferred Knowledge of supply chain analytics and production flow Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Mechanical or manufacturing knowledge is a plus Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Effective written and verbal communication Ability to analyze data and support planning decisions Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment Strong problem-solving skills Ability to collaborate across departments Adaptable to changing production needs and priorities Benefits 401(k) Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance
