Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Progressive/Transfer Press Operator and become a vital part of producing high-quality metal components. Responsibilities Set up and operate progressive and transfer presses, ensuring proper tooling and safety devices are in place before starting production. Monitor machine operation continuously, making adjustments to optimize speed, quality, and safety. Perform routine inspections of tooling, dies, and press components to identify wear or potential issues. Conduct quality checks using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions against blueprints and specifications. Maintain detailed production logs, shift reports, and inspection records to ensure traceability and compliance. Operate forklifts and cranes safely to transport raw materials or finished parts within the facility. Support the assembly process by ensuring parts meet quality standards before final assembly or shipment. Experience Prior experience operating progressive or transfer presses in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred. Knowledge of blueprint reading (GD&T) standards) and the use of precision measuring tools like micrometers, calipers, and other quality inspection instruments. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tolerances. Experience with sheet metal fabrication techniques including stamping presses, tooling setup, and sheet metal handling. Ability to read technical drawings accurately and interpret complex specifications for manufacturing processes. Familiarity with safety protocols involving hand tools, tooling setup, cranes, forklifts, and other heavy equipment is essential. Mechanical knowledge combined with a proactive approach to troubleshooting equipment issues ensures smooth operations from start-up through production completion.
