• 5:30pm (Work all scheduled hours, paid for 40 hours) Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and dependable Production Lead to oversee day-to-day production activities and help lead our manufacturing team.

The Production Lead works closely with Production Workers, Machine Operators, Maintenance, Quality, Warehouse, and Management to ensure products are manufactured, bottled, labeled, packaged, and prepared for shipment safely, efficiently, and according to company standards. Our facility manufactures beauty and personal-care products by mixing chemical ingredients, filling and bottling products, applying labels, packaging finished goods, and preparing orders for shipment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can motivate employees, maintain production schedules, identify problems, enforce safety and quality standards, and keep operations running efficiently. Essential Responsibilities Lead and coordinate daily production activities according to established production schedules. Assign employees to production lines, workstations, and tasks based on production needs. Provide direction, coaching, and support to Production Workers and Machine Operators. Monitor employee performance, attendance, productivity, and adherence to company policies. Ensure production orders are completed accurately and on schedule. Oversee production activities involving chemical mixing, filling, bottling, capping, labeling, packaging, and material handling. Verify that the correct ingredients, containers, labels, packaging materials, and production documents are being used. Monitor production lines and equipment to identify bottlenecks, downtime, quality issues, or safety concerns. Coordinate with Maintenance when equipment requires repair or troubleshooting. Work with Quality to address product defects, labeling issues, contamination concerns, and other quality problems. Perform or oversee required production and quality checks. Ensure employees follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), batch instructions, and work instructions. Review production paperwork and ensure required records are completed accurately. Assist with production line changeovers, equipment setup, cleaning, and startup activities. Monitor material usage and help minimize product and packaging waste. Coordinate the movement of completed products to warehouse and shipping areas. Communicate production status, delays, material shortages, equipment problems, and staffing concerns to management. Conduct or assist with employee training and onboarding. Help identify opportunities to improve productivity, safety, quality, and efficiency. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional production environment. Enforce housekeeping and sanitation standards throughout production areas. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Leadership Responsibilities The Production Lead serves as a working leader and is expected to set a positive example for the production team.

Responsibilities include:

Lead by example in safety, quality, attendance, productivity, and professionalism. Provide clear instructions and expectations to employees. Monitor workflow and redistribute employees as production needs change. Coach employees on proper work procedures and safe equipment operation. Address performance and conduct concerns promptly and professionally. Recognize strong employee performance and encourage teamwork. Assist management with employee evaluations and performance documentation when requested. Help create a positive, respectful, and productive work environment. Communicate effectively with employees across different shifts and departments. Quality Responsibilities The Production Lead is responsible for helping ensure every production run meets established quality standards.

Responsibilities include:

Verify production employees follow approved procedures. Ensure correct packaging materials are used for each production run. Monitor filling, bottling, capping, labeling, and packaging quality. Ensure proper product identification and labeling. Monitor for defective, damaged, contaminated, or improperly packaged products. Ensure questionable products are properly identified and placed on hold when required. Work with Quality personnel to resolve production-related quality issues. Review production records for completeness and accuracy. Help prevent product mix-ups, labeling errors, and contamination. Support investigations and corrective actions when problems occur. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Experience in manufacturing, production, packaging, or a related environment preferred. Previous leadership, lead, supervisor, or senior production experience. Experience working with production equipment and manufacturing processes. Strong understanding of workplace safety and manufacturing procedures. Ability to read and follow SOPs, work instructions, production schedules, and batch documentation. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to organize multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Good basic math and documentation skills. Ability to train and coach employees effectively. Dependable attendance and willingness to work overtime when necessary. Work Environment This position works in an active manufacturing facility where chemical ingredients are mixed and processed and finished beauty products are bottled, labeled, packaged, stored, and shipped. The Production Lead may be exposed to manufacturing noise, moving machinery, chemical odors, cleaning products, temperature variations, forklifts, and other conditions associated with a production facility. Required safety training and PPE will be provided. Physical Requirements The Production Lead must be able to: Stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently bend, stoop, reach, and move throughout the production facility. Lift and carry materials and products as required. Push and pull carts or material-handling equipment. Work around operating machinery safely. Occasionally climb stairs or ladders. Perform repetitive production-related tasks when assisting employees. Lift up to 50 pounds as required by the position.
