Apply Production Associate/Yard Spotter 2nd Shift Temple, TX Apply Description Production Associate About Us DanHil Containers is a leading manufacturer of corrugated containers, committed to delivering high-quality packaging solutions with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and innovation. Position Overview We are looking for flexible and detail-oriented individuals to join our production team as Production Associates. This role requires adaptability, as daily duties may shift based on staffing and production needs. Responsibilities include assembling, wrapping, banding, stitching, and gluing products, as well as feeding, stacking, and assisting with machine operations when needed. Successful candidates will thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring high-quality production while maintaining safety and efficiency standards. This hybrid position is designed for a production associate who is also capable of safely moving trailers within our yard. The primary responsibility is performing production associate on the production floor. In addition, this role includes Yard Jockey duties such as repositioning trailers, staging equipment, coordinating with shipping/receiving, and ensuring smooth yard flow during peak periods or staffing gaps. Flexibility and strong situational awareness are essential.
Key Responsibilities Production Associate Material Handling:
Work with various stages of production, from raw corrugated sheets to finished products.
Production Support:
Collaborate with coworkers and supervisors to efficiently complete daily assigned tasks.
Quality Control:
Inspect products to ensure they meet company quality standards and report any defects.
Workplace Maintenance:
Keep work areas clean and organized to promote a safe and efficient workspace.
Safety Compliance:
Follow all workplace safety protocols to prevent accidents and maintain a secure working environment. Yard Jockey / Yard Spotter (As Needed) Move, spot, and stage empty and loaded trailers within the yard using a yard truck or spotting tractor Communicate with Shipping, Receiving, and Production teams to support efficient trailer flow. Perform trailer checks such as verifying seals, ensuring doors are secured, and confirming trailer availability. Maintain an organized yard layout by properly positioning trailers in assigned locations. Assist with coordinating inbound and outbound trailer activities during peak hours or personnel shortages.
Requirements Qualifications & Requirements Skills and Knowledge:
Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with coworkers and supervisors. Strong situational awareness, understanding trailer traffic, blind spots, and yard flow. Ability to perform fractions, unit conversions, and measurements for accurate production calculations.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods, lift materials, and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as part of regular job duties. Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and indoors in a noisy manufacturing environment.
Reliability:
Strong attendance and punctuality are essential for maintaining production schedules.
Experience:
1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Previous Yard Jockey or commercial vehicle maneuvering experience (Required). Valid Driver's License or Commercial Driver's License (Required)
Work Environment:
Comfortable working in noisy environments and variable conditions.
Scheduling:
