Job Overview Print Pro is seeking an Ink Room Technician with experience in color matching or flexographic printing. In this hands-on role, you will prepare and verify inks, support our press teams, and help deliver consistent print quality. You will report to the Operations Lead - Ink Room and the Operations Lead for your assigned crew. You will receive training on Print Pro's equipment, systems, and procedures, with opportunities to increase your earnings as your skills and capabilities grow. Paid hours are 4:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The shift begins with a required handoff from the night crew to review production needs, ink readiness, and outstanding issues. What you will do Prepare, mix, and color match inks to meet job specifications and production needs. Check and document color accuracy, pH, and viscosity before releasing ink to the presses. Ensure the correct inks and quantities are ready when production needs them. Work with press operators and leadership to troubleshoot ink and color concerns. Use ink dispensing and color matching systems, including work-off programs that reuse existing ink and reduce waste. Accurately record ink usage and maintain clear labeling and inventory organization. Communicate priorities and outstanding work during shift handoffs. Follow standard work and safe chemical handling practices. Maintain a clean, organized Ink Room and contribute ideas that improve quality, efficiency, and consistency. Proven experience with machine operation in a manufacturing or industrial setting, particularly involving printing or converting machines. Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively. Familiarity with prepress processes, production document interpretation, and quality standards in manufacturing environments. Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for mixing inks and measuring dimensions. Knowledge of safety standards in production environments, including industrial equipment adjustment and safety protocol adherence. Experience with forklift operation is required; certification is preferred but not mandatory if willing to obtain upon hire. Strong manual handling skills with an understanding of packaging processes for paper products or similar materials. What you bring Prior experience in color matching or flexographic printing is required. Careful attention to color accuracy, measurements, and documentation. The ability to prioritize work as production needs change. Clear communication and a willingness to work closely with others. Dependability and readiness to begin the shift at 4:45 a.m. A willingness to learn, accept feedback, and develop your technical skills. The ability to regularly lift and handle materials weighing up to 60 pounds and perform hands-on work in a manufacturing environment. Experience with ink dispensing software, work-off ink programs, and ink quality checks is a plus.
