Quality Supervisor GSI International | Precision Manufacturing | Chandler, AZ — $60,000 - $90,000/yr
POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Supervisor at GSI International is the primary owner of the
ISO 9001
Quality Management System on the floor. You will ensure that every process delivers its intended output, that documentation is accurate and maintained, that inspection is performed correctly, and that continuous improvement is not just a phrase — it is a standard operating expectation. This is a leadership role with real accountability for the quality of everything GSI ships.
ABOUT GSI INTERNATIONAL GSI
International is a precision machining and manufacturing company specializing in aerospace and defense components.
ISO 9001
certified and driven by a culture of continuous improvement, we deliver tight-tolerance parts and assemblies that meet the highest standards in the industry. Our team takes pride in doing the job right — quality, accountability, and innovation are not just values on a wall; they are the way we operate every single day. We are growing and looking for people who take ownership of their work, hold themselves to a high standard, and want to build something exceptional alongside a team that will back them up.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Owning
ISO 9001
compliance across the operation — not as an audit exercise, but as a daily operating standard. Ensuring in-process and final inspection is performed correctly, consistently, and without being prompted. Catching non-conformances before they leave the building — every escape is a failure of the system you own. Developing the quality team and holding them accountable to the standards the customer expects. Driving continuous improvement that is measurable — not just conversations, but outcomes.
OBJECTIVES
Ensure full compliance with
ISO 9001
requirements through steady, long-term improvement in efficiency and quality. Review the QMS with the management team regularly to maintain compliance and drive continuous improvement. Ensure procedures are in place, supported by work instructions that define specific tasks and responsibilities. Manage and maintain Document and Data Control per ISO requirements. Manage in-process inspection and testing, including delegation of quality personnel requirements. Manage first-part, receiving, and final inspection processes. Manage calibration equipment and records; ensure calibration status is maintained throughout production. Maintain non-conforming material records and drive corrective action to closure.
COMPETENCIES ISO 9001
Quality System Ownership Leads the QMS as the system's primary owner — not just compliance documentation, but the operating culture that makes quality real on the floor. Inspection Leadership Manages all inspection activities: in-process, first-article, receiving, and final. Ensures inspection is performed correctly and results are documented accurately. Non-Conformance & Corrective Action Owns the NCR process from identification through root cause and corrective action closure. Does not let NCRs age without resolution. Calibration Management Ensures all measuring and test equipment is correctly calibrated, records are maintained, and no uncalibrated equipment is used in production. Team Development Leads quality personnel — develops their skills, holds them accountable, and builds a team that takes quality as seriously as the supervisor does.
