We manufacture hot-fill and acidified beverages for multiple brands and are significantly expanding our production capacity. This position will work directly with production and company leadership and will have responsibility for the facility's day-to-day Quality and Food Safety programs. This is a plant-floor Quality role , not simply a documentation position. The right candidate should be comfortable moving between production, sanitation, batch records, laboratory results, regulatory documentation, employee training, and customer requirements. The Quality Manager will initially work closely with company leadership during the transition and then assume primary responsibility for the facility's Quality function. Responsibilities Manage the facility's Quality and Food Safety programs. Maintain compliance with applicable FDA requirements, cGMPs, FSMA requirements, and company procedures. Maintain and administer HACCP and preventive-control programs. Oversee Quality requirements for acidified and hot-fill beverage production. Review production and batch records for completeness and compliance. Verify critical processing parameters, including time, temperature, and pH requirements. Manage product, ingredient, and packaging specifications. Oversee incoming-material inspection and disposition. Administer finished-product hold and release procedures. Coordinate finished-product and environmental microbiological testing with outside laboratories. Review laboratory results and authorize product release according to established specifications and procedures. Manage deviations, investigations, CAPA, and nonconforming materials. Maintain lot traceability and recall-readiness programs. Oversee sanitation verification and associated records. Maintain USDA Organic manufacturing requirements, including the Organic System Plan, approved materials, segregation, sanitation, traceability, and inspection readiness. Maintain SOPs, forms, logs, and controlled Quality documentation. Train production employees on GMPs, food safety, sanitation, and Quality procedures. Work closely with Production to resolve Quality issues while maintaining appropriate Quality standards. Support FDA inspections, Organic inspections, customer audits, and third-party audits. Review new products and processes for Quality and regulatory requirements before commercial production. Work with Process Authorities and company management on acidified-food processes and documentation. Help continuously improve the facility's Quality Management System as production volume and customer requirements grow. Required Experience 3+ years of Quality/QA experience in food or beverage manufacturing. Preferred Qualifications Better Process Control School ( BPCS ) certification. PCQI certification. HACCP certification. Beverage co-packing or contract-manufacturing experience. Experience with FDA inspections. Experience with USDA Organic inspections and certification audits. Experience with customer and third-party food-safety audits. Experience developing or improving a Quality Management System. Experience with high-volume beverage filling and packaging operations. A degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field is helpful, but relevant manufacturing and Quality experience is more important to us than a particular degree. Hands-on experience with cGMP, HACCP, and FSMA requirements . Experience with acidified foods and/or hot-fill beverage manufacturing . Experience working in a USDA Organic-certified food or beverage manufacturing environment . Experience reviewing batch and production records. Experience with product specifications, traceability, and hold/release procedures. Experience with sanitation verification and food-manufacturing hygiene requirements. Experience coordinating or reviewing microbiological testing. Experience investigating deviations and implementing corrective actions. Comfortable spending significant time on the manufacturing floor. Strong organizational and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with Production while maintaining independent Quality standards.
Pay:
