Job Description

Quality Assurance Manager Location:

Greater Cincinnati, Ohio

• On-site About the Company A small, privately held manufacturer serving customers in regulated industrial and government markets. We design and build custom equipment and related assemblies under demanding quality, documentation, and compliance requirements. We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to own the quality system, support production and customer requirements, and help the company scale with discipline. Position Summary The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and continually improving the company's quality management system. This role partners with operations, engineering, purchasing, and program leadership to ensure products, processes, and records meet internal standards and customer specifications.

The position is hands-on:

the successful candidate will both build and administer the system and work on the floor when needed. Key Responsibilities Own and maintain the quality management system, including procedures, work instructions, forms, and controlled records. Lead incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities; establish inspection criteria and sampling approaches appropriate to the work. Manage nonconforming material, root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive action, and effectiveness checks. Support first-article, source inspection, and customer or third-party quality reviews as required. Maintain calibration control for inspection and test equipment. Partner with operations and engineering on process capability, traveler/router accuracy, and shop-floor quality practices. Review purchase orders, drawings, and customer quality clauses; flow down applicable requirements to suppliers. Qualify, monitor, and develop suppliers; address supplier quality issues and incoming discrepancies. Prepare quality metrics, trend analysis, and management-review inputs. Support internal audits and external audits (customer, registrar, or government as applicable). Train employees on quality procedures, inspection methods, and documentation discipline. Contribute to continuous improvement while protecting schedule and cost commitments. Handle quality-related customer communications in a professional, factual manner. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Several years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment, including leadership or supervisory responsibility. Working knowledge of a formal quality management system (ISO 9001 or equivalent aerospace/defense quality framework). Demonstrated experience with inspection methods, GD&T basics, nonconformance control, and CAPA. Comfort working from drawings, bills of material, travelers, and customer specifications. Strong written documentation skills and attention to detail. Ability to work on-site in a production setting and to wear required

person status as defined by applicable export-control regulations. Preferred Qualifications Experience in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing. Familiarity with

AS9100, ISO 9001

internal auditing, and/or customer-specific quality requirements. Exposure to government contracting quality expectations, configuration control, and product identification/traceability. Experience implementing or maturing a quality system in a small or growing manufacturer. Working knowledge of ERP or quality modules used to control travelers, lots, and inspection records.

CQI, ASQ

CQE/CQA, or similar professional credential.

From $95,000.00 per year
