Job Description
Quality Manager - ISO 9001 Manufacturing Metal Tube Fabrication | Hands-On Quality Leadership Hydro Tube Enterprises, Inc. is seeking an experienced Quality Manager with at least two years of manufacturing quality leadership and direct responsibility for an ISO 9001-based quality management system. This position leads the Quality Department and oversees customer and supplier quality, audits, PPAPs, first-article requirements, corrective actions, calibration, and dimensional inspection for our metal tube fabrication operations. This is a hands-on, working-manager role that requires prior manufacturing quality leadership; not solely production, engineering, or inspection experience. The Quality Manager will work directly with employees, customers, suppliers, and auditors while assisting with inspections and urgent quality issues when needed. Key Responsibilities Lead and continually improve the ISO 9001-based quality management system, including controlled documentation and internal, customer, and certification audits. Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections, including calibration, first-article verification, and complex dimensional inspections. Prepare and manage PPAPs, control plans, first-article documentation, and customer-specific quality requirements. Manage nonconforming material, customer complaints, supplier issues, corrective actions, and root-cause investigations. Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and GD&T requirements. Monitor scrap, rework, audit findings, and other quality data to identify and implement improvements. Work directly with customers, suppliers, Production, and Engineering to resolve quality concerns. Supervise, train, and provide technical direction to Quality Department and production personnel. Required Qualifications At least two years of quality management experience as a Quality Manager, Quality Supervisor, or equivalent quality leader in a manufacturing facility. Experience maintaining an ISO 9001-based quality management system and conducting internal audits. Experience with PPAPs, first-article inspections, control plans, FMEAs, corrective actions, and nonconforming material. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, dimensions, and tolerances. Experience with dimensional inspection equipment, including FARO Arm, CMM, micrometers, calipers, gauges, and tape measures. Experience managing gage calibration and applying proper metrology practices. General knowledge of manufacturing processes and how they affect product quality. Effective problem-solving, communication, leadership, and customer-service skills. Preferred Qualifications
