Manufacturing Full Job Description Summary:
The Receiving Inspector will be responsible for conducting detailed dimensional and visual inspections on critical parts, assemblies, and raw material. Inspector will be required to document their inspection findings, produce the necessary documentation and reports, establishing acceptance or rejection. Inspection involves using tools such as; calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Basic knowledge of the requirements, maintenance, and implementation of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 guidelines preferred.
Essential Job Functions:
Follow all established quality management system procedures and work instructions as applicable Uses basic measuring tools to validate incoming product Use of internal and online databases to recall and input data, reference drawings and specifications Verifies the data stated on material or hardware certifications matches the requirements Physically confirm that incoming hardware and parts received from outside processing is conforming by measuring and counting the parts when required Performs basic inventory control functions, stocking parts, cycle counts, labeling product, etc.
Knowledge & Skills:
Experienced in blue print and drawing reading, inspection equipment, review of raw material. Ability to understand customer specifications and requirements Ability to understand certificate of conformances to ensure they meet blueprint / purchase order requirements Effective communication skills both oral and written Good organizational skills Education and Experience (Final Determination made by Hiring Manager): High school graduate or equivalent, Minimum 2 years' experience in receiving inspection or as a quality inspector preferred. Manufacturing, Government Contracting, Aviation and/or Defense Industry experience a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Stooping, crouching, reaching, walking, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motion. Must be able to lift 30 lbs. Must have close visual acuity. May be subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust.
