We are committed to producing high-quality products through rigorous quality control and continuous improvement. We are seeking a detail-oriented Incoming Receiving Inspector to join our team. Job Summary The Incoming Receiving Inspector is responsible for inspecting and verifying incoming raw materials, parts, and components against engineering drawings, purchase order specifications, and quality standards before they are released to production or inventory. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and a mechanical aptitude to properly evaluate parts using precision measuring tools. Key Responsibilities Inspect incoming materials, parts, and components upon receipt for conformance to drawings, specifications, and purchase order requirements Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine inspection criteria and tolerances Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, height gauges, etc.) to verify dimensional accuracy Perform visual inspections to identify defects, damage, or nonconformances Document inspection results, including measurements and any discrepancies, using inspection reports or the quality management system Tag, segregate, and process nonconforming materials according to company procedures (e.g., material review board / MRB process) Communicate with Purchasing, Quality, and Suppliers regarding nonconformance issues or documentation discrepancies Maintain calibration records and ensure measuring equipment is properly calibrated and maintained Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection/receiving area Assist with other quality or receiving department tasks as needed Support continuous improvement initiatives by participating in root cause analysis and implementing corrective measures for recurring quality concerns Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent, minimum Prior experience in quality inspection, receiving inspection, or a related manufacturing/mechanical role Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) basics Mechanically inclined, with a solid understanding of how parts and assemblies function Proficiency using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) Excellent analysis skills with keen attention to detail for dimensional measurements and quality standards compliance Mechanical knowledge combined with basic math skills to perform precise inspections confidently Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Basic computer skills (data entry, email, quality/ERP systems) Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and stand for extended periods Preferred Experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, medical device, or similar regulated industry Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other quality management systems Experience with material review board (MRB) or nonconformance processes Work Schedule This position is available as either full-time or part-time, depending on the candidate's availability and the needs of the company.
