We are looking for an experienced Quality Inspector to join our precision sheet metal team. In this role, you will be responsible for verifying that our manufactured components meet stringent customer specifications and engineering drawings. From first-article inspections (FAI) to in-process checks and final sign-offs, you will play a critical role in ensuring our laser-cut, punched, formed, and welded assemblies meet the highest standards of excellence. If you have a sharp eye for detail and a strong background in dimensional inspection, we want to hear from you. Key Responsibilities First-Article Inspection (FAI): Perform rigorous first-piece inspections on complex sheet metal parts and assemblies to verify full compliance with engineering blueprints and customer requirements.
In-Process & Final Inspection:
Conduct routine in-process checks and final visual/dimensional audits across laser cutting, press brake forming, welding, and secondary operations.
Blueprint & Tolerance Interpretation:
Read and interpret complex 2D technical drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and 3D CAD data.
Precision Measurement:
Utilize precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gages, pin gages, surface plates, and optical comparators.
Non-Conformance Reporting:
Document and track non-conforming materials, manage reject logs, and assist with root-cause analysis and corrective action workflows.
Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain accurate inspection records, complete material test reports (MTRs), and sign off on shipping documentation prior to product release.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
Minimum of 2-4 years of quality inspection experience within a precision metal fabrication, CNC machining, or industrial manufacturing environment.
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes, welding symbols, and metal fabrication tolerances.
Measurement Proficiency:
Demonstrated expertise with standard inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, height stands) and surface plate layout.
Blueprint Reading:
Ability to interpret complex blueprints and GD&T callouts accurately.
Communication & Detail:
Strong organizational skills, clear technical writing ability, and a meticulous approach to quality assurance.
