Job Description

Quality Control Inspector Quality Control Inspectors are highly organized with their daily schedule while diligent with their inbound workflow, able to identify and shift priorities throughout the day. They inspect inbound berries prior to entering the cold chain while supporting an array of inbound tasks and overarching distribution goals. Quality Control Inspectors report directly to the Director of Supply.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Physically inspecting inbound fruit at cooler level via inspection software
  • Documenting accurate fruit descriptions, characteristics, lot information, and pictures to inspection software and sometimes via text message
  • Utilizes a variety of inspection tools, such as but not limited to pulp thermometer, scales, and inspection cart
  • Assigning lots to specific orders and demand plans
  • Printing PTI stickers
  • Effective communication and collaboration with Sales, Grower Relations, and loaders
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workstation
Qualifications:
  • Detail-oriented
  • Maintains a consistent and safe work-ethic
  • Adapts to short-notice changes in strategy
  • Familiar with fresh produce quality, food safety, and USDA standards
  • Works in both a cooler and office environment, with exposure to cold chain temperatures
  • Flexible to work extended hours during peak season
  • Ability to work independently in busy cooler environment
  • Proficient computer and tablet skills, with willingness to learn new ERP/softwares
  • Ability to lift up to 20lb
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in fresh produce and agriculture
  • Experience with fresh berries
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Pay:
From $20.00 per hour
