Job Description Independently develop, modify, validate, and optimize CMM inspection programs for new and existing products. Program and operate CMM equipment using PC-DMIS, Calypso, or comparable inspection software platforms. Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, customer specifications, and advanced GD&T requirements to establish effective inspection strategies. Determine appropriate measurement methods, alignments, probe configurations, and datum structures for accurate dimensional verification. Conduct dimensional inspections using CMMs, vision inspection systems, and precision measuring instruments. Perform First Article Inspections and prepare detailed inspection documentation, including AS9102 reports when required. Create inspection plans and automated measurement routines supporting validation activities and production programs. Execute Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Gage R&R studies, and process capability evaluations. Analyze inspection data and provide actionable recommendations to support quality improvements and process optimization. Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Tooling teams on metrology-related projects and technical challenges. Support inspection fixture design, calibration activities, and automated equipment verification programs. Mentor and train team members on measurement techniques, inspection equipment, and troubleshooting procedures. The Successful Applicant Minimum 3 years of hands-on CMM programming experience in a precision manufacturing environment. Proven ability to independently create, modify, validate, and troubleshoot CMM programs. Proficiency with PC-DMIS, Calypso, or comparable CMM programming software. Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and specifications. Advanced understanding of GD&T in accordance with
ASME Y14.5
standards. Experience with dimensional metrology, inspection planning, measurement methods, and precision measurement equipment. Knowledge of First Article Inspection processes, MSA, Gage R&R studies, SPC, and capability analysis. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience with ZEISS or Hexagon CMMs, vision systems, plastics manufacturing, or regulated industries is highly preferred. Eligibility to work within ITAR-regulated environments is required.
