Job Description

Quality Control Technician - Post-Pour Inspection United Concrete Products Inc. is a leader in manufacturing precast concrete solutions. As a Quality Control Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that finished products meet customer specifications and quality requirements through thorough post-pour inspection, repair work, and accurate dimensional verification using scanning technology. Responsibilities and Duties Performs post-pour inspection of all finished precast products to ensure compliance with customer specifications, drawings, and quality standards. Utilizes a 3D scanner to verify dimensions, embed locations, and overall product accuracy, comparing scan data against project drawings and tolerances. Performs repairs on precast products, including patching, grinding, and finishing work, to bring products into conformance with quality requirements. Maintains daily and project production records. Checks and verifies all dimensions of cast-in embeds on finished product. Completes daily Quality Control documentation, including scan reports and repair logs. Inspects all finished product for surface defects, dimensional accuracy, and overall workmanship. Documents and follows-up on any precast product that requires additional patching or rework. Ensures that all precast products are correctly marked and identified prior to shipment. Assists other Quality Control personnel as requested. Assists in finding ways to decrease delays and reduce the need for rework by identifying recurring issues during post-pour inspections. Assumes responsibility for maintaining plant and yard safety in accordance with the Safety Manual and the direction of the Safety Coordinator. Qualifications and Skills Prestress experience preferred Experience operating a 3D scanner or similar dimensional verification equipment (preferred) Experience performing concrete repair, patching, and finishing work (preferred) Some experience in quality assurance, ACI certification (preferred but not required) High School diploma or equivalent Experience with construction materials (preferred) Basic computer skills, including the ability to operate scanning software and review digital drawings Strong problem solving and communication skills Ability to move or lift 50 lbs. Works and communicates well with others
