Attention to detail Problem-solving Blueprint reading Calypso CMM quality inspector experience Root cause analysis Coordinate measuring machine AS9100 Full Job Description FK Instrument is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance CMM Programmer/Inspector to join our growing Quality team. This role is responsible for programming, validating, and operating Zeiss CMMs using Calypso software to inspect tight-tolerance, precision-machined components for aerospace, defense, and semiconductor customers. You will play a key role in ensuring parts meet customer, engineering, and industry requirements while working closely with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering to solve dimensional issues and support new product launches. What You'll Be Doing Develop, modify, validate, and optimize Zeiss Calypso CMM programs for new and existing parts Perform first article, in-process, final, and receiving inspections Interpret blueprints, CAD models, customer specifications, and
ASME Y14.5 GD&T
Complete AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports and detailed dimensional inspection reports Identify and document nonconforming conditions, then help investigate root cause and corrective actions Work alongside Manufacturing and Engineering to resolve dimensional issues and improve processes Help shape better inspection methods, fixturing, CMM programs, and measurement approaches Support new product launches, process validation, MSA activities, capability studies, and audits Mentor and support other inspectors as needed What We're Looking For 5+ years of Zeiss Calypso CMM programming experience, or comparable hands-on CMM programming experience 5+ years of mechanical inspection experience in a precision manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, and dimensional inspection techniques Experience using inspection tools including CMMs, micrometers, height gauges, surface plates, indicators, gauge blocks and pins, thread gauges, optical comparators, and profilometers Experience completing AS9102 First Article Inspections Familiarity with AS9100 quality requirements Someone who is detail-oriented, self-directed, organized, and motivated to solve problems
