Job Description

Stable and growing manufacturing company is seeking a Quality Supervisor to join their team near Lavonia, GA area! The Quality Supervisor oversees all quality control activities for the fabrication, assembly, hardware preparation, and finishing of products. This role ensures products meet internal standards and customer specifications while leading a team of inspectors and partnering closely with production, engineering, and shipping.
Shift:
Monday thru Friday (Currently on 5-10's, Friday is OT. Plan to cut back to 4-10's Monday thru Friday)
Pay Range:
65-75k depending on experience Key Responsibilities Quality Control & Inspection Supervise the inspection of metal doors, welded frames, sidelights, and other produced parts. Inspect material thickness, edge seams, hinge reinforcement, lock reinforcements, stiffeners, and hardware preparations. Confirm dimensional accuracy including door squareness, twist, bow, and frame throat dimensions. Oversee weld quality inspections including corner welds, hinge reinforcements, mullions, and continuous welds. Maintain calibration of inspection tools such as gauges, micrometers, and thickness meters. Non‑Conformance & Root Cause Analysis Lead investigations into defects such as weld failures, prep misalignment, or dimension variance. Field customer quality issues. Manage NCRs, rework instructions, and corrective actions. Drive root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Whys and Pareto charts. Track quality KPIs such as defects per shift, rework hours, and first‑pass yield. Documentation Document and track quality issues internal and external. Maintain inspection sheets, route tags, NCR logs, and traceability records. Support internal, customer, and certification audits. Need to be a part of the process and solution Collaboration & Process Improvement Work with engineering to interpret hardware prep drawings and specifications. Collaborate with production to reduce scrap and improve fabrication practices. Participate in new product development to ensure quality feasibility. Promote 5S, Lean, and continuous improvement initiatives. Required Skills & Qualifications 3-5+ years of experience in sheet metal fabrication, including 2+ years of Quality experience Ability to read shop drawings, weld symbols, and GD&T. Experience inspecting welds, sheet metal thickness, and dimensional criteria. Supervisory or Lead experience in a quality or production environment. Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills. Preferred Qualifications 3-5+ years of Quality experience in sheet metal fabrication. Familiarity with MIG welding, resistance welding, and automated fabrication equipment. ISO experience Lean or Six Sigma experience. #ST101

$65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
