Plastipak Packaging, Inc. is seeking a Quality Technician to support production of high-quality rigid plastic packaging. In this role, you will perform routine and non-routine quality inspections on PET and HDPE containers, using gauges and test equipment to verify critical dimensions, appearance, and functional performance. You will collect and analyze data, maintain accurate records, and escalate nonconformances. The Quality Technician partners closely with Production and Maintenance to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement, safety, and sustainability initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Perform routine and non-routine inspections of PET and HDPE containers during production Use measurement tools and test equipment to verify product dimensions, appearance, and performance Document inspection results, maintain quality records, and update databases or logs Identify, report, and help contain nonconforming product and process issues Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions Communicate quality findings to Production, Maintenance, and supervision in real time Follow plant safety, GMP, and quality procedures and participate in audits Assist with line trials, capability studies, and continuous improvement projects Calibrate or verify gauges and inspection equipment as required Support training of production staff on basic quality checks and standards Required Skills Quality inspection Calipers, micrometers, and gauges SPC and basic statistics Reading technical drawings and specifications Root cause analysis (5 Whys, fishbone) Nonconformance documentation ISO 9001 or similar QMS familiarity MS Office or quality data systems GMP and safety practices Plastic packaging or injection/stretch blow molding knowledge
