Job Title:
Quality Technician Job Description The Quality Technician supports daily quality activities within a production environment by auditing processes and finished goods, performing inspections, and maintaining quality documentation. This role works closely with production and quality teams to address quality concerns, conduct correlation studies and calibrations, and help sustain a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and accuracy. Responsibilities Support plant personnel with daily quality concerns and issues, providing timely communication of quality alerts as needed. Audit compliance with existing procedures and requirements, including paperwork at the press and any process variances, and report non-conformances. Audit finished goods, perform detailed quality inspections, and clearly report findings to production and quality personnel. Perform correlation studies to verify measurement consistency and conduct in-house calibration of equipment, as well as schedule and coordinate outsourced calibration services. Support the Quality Management System (QMS) by updating documentation and assisting in writing procedures and work instructions. Work in a safe and efficient manner at all times, using required personal protective equipment and safety devices and following all documented work standards and training. Actively participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and help promote and sustain CI, 5S, and standardized work activities across the production area. Sort parts and perform visual inspections and quality checks to ensure products meet established standards and specifications. Read and interpret orders and basic prints to understand product requirements and inspection criteria. Complete accurate daily reports and maintain thorough, organized paperwork related to quality audits, inspections, and findings. Collaborate effectively with team members across different roles to resolve quality issues and support ongoing production needs. Perform other duties as assigned to support overall quality and production objectives. Essential Skills Ability to work in a safety-sensitive role, maintaining a constant state of alertness and consistently working in a safe manner. Demonstrated ability to stop, think, and act safely before performing tasks, especially around moving equipment and people. Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based on business needs. Ability to work on a rotating shift schedule and adapt to changing work hours. Ability to rotate between different job stations and tasks within the production environment. Proven ability to work effectively in teams and collaborate with a wide variety of roles. Ability to professionally accept and apply constructive feedback to improve performance and quality outcomes. Ability to work reliably in a fast-paced, production-based environment with moving equipment and personnel. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate effectively across production, quality, and other functional areas. Ability to understand and apply organizational policies, standards, and procedures that guide manufacturing and quality practices. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word, and the ability to use other computer programs as needed. Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in auditing, reporting, and completing paperwork. Experience performing quality inspection, quality control, and quality assurance activities, including visual inspection and quality checks. Ability to read and understand basic prints and work orders to support accurate inspection and auditing. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with auditing production processes and completing daily quality reports. Familiarity with Continuous Improvement, 5S, and standardized work practices. Experience sorting parts and performing detailed visual inspections in a manufacturing setting. Proficiency with PowerPoint is an advantage for preparing or presenting quality-related information. Bilingual communication skills are a plus and can support effective interaction across diverse teams. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a production facility with moving equipment, active manufacturing lines, and multiple job stations. You will work on rotating shifts and may be required to work overtime and weekends depending on business needs. The position requires consistent use of personal protective equipment and adherence to all safety procedures and standardized work instructions. Work involves standing, moving between stations, inspecting parts, sorting components, and completing documentation at press areas and other production locations. You will use computers and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word, to complete reports and maintain quality records in a structured, process-driven environment that emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization through Continuous Improvement and 5S practices. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Georgetown, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
