Job Description

Position Summary Gem-Trim is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our team in Houma, LA. This role is responsible for inspecting machined and manufactured control valve parts throughout production to ensure they meet customer specifications, engineering drawings, and our
ISO 9001
2015 quality standards. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for detail, experience with precision measuring instruments, and a commitment to maintaining Gem-Trim's reputation for high-quality manufacturing.
Primary Responsibilities:
Inspect incoming raw materials, in-process parts, and finished goods for conformance to engineering drawings, blueprints, and customer specifications Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and CMM equipment (as applicable) Verify surface finish, hardness, and material certifications against required specifications Document inspection results, non-conformances, and quality data accurately and in a timely manner Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment per established procedures Support compliance with
ISO 9001
2015 quality management system requirements Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and production staff to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence Assist with final inspection and documentation before shipment, including certificates of conformance Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection work area
Requirements:
Experience in a precision machining or job shop environment. Proven ability to read and interpet complex detailed drawimgs, sketches, and specifacations Average or above reading and math skills Strong attention to detail and orginazational skills. Proficient in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, Excel, Teams, etc.) Kowledge of
ISO 9001
2015 a plus Machinist and/or drafting background a plus
