GENERAL DESCRIPTION

DESCRIBING ROLE
): Under the direction of the Food Services Manager, the job of Cook/Baker is done for the purpose of cooking, baking and preparing and distributing food service items for consumption by students and school personnel and maintaining facilities in a sanitary condition.

Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to work with students, staff and public. Ability to solve challenging situations. Ability to manage complex projects and multiple deadlines.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
(NOT
LIMITED TO
): Prepares and serves food and beverage items for the purpose of meeting mandated nutritional requirements, projected meal requirements, planned menus and catering needs. Cleans and maintains utensils and equipment; and the areas used for storage, food preparation and serving for the purpose of maintaining safe and sanitary conditions. Prepares required documentation and necessary reports for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information. Requests food, equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining an adequate inventory to complete jobs efficiently. Maintains positive relations with students, staff and the community for the purpose of supporting positive interactions for the district and the food services program. Accounts for appropriate cash transactions for the purpose of maintaining accurate monetary records.
Other Job Functions:
Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities. Maintains prompt and regular attendance. Completes all other job duties as needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work Environment:
Work is generally performed in a school environment during the school day.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to walk, climb, stoop, reach and bend. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally move or lift up to 30 pounds. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
