Job Title:
QMS Specialist Job Description The Quality Systems Specialist supports the development, documentation, and maintenance of the company's Quality Management System (QMS) to meet the requirements of AS9100 and special process accreditation through NADCAP. This role works under the direction of Quality leadership to assist with procedure development, documentation control, audit preparation, and compliance activities. The position focuses on implementing and maintaining systems and records required for certification and accreditation rather than leading the certification effort. Responsibilities Quality System Documentation- Assist with creation, formatting, and revision of QMS procedures, work instructions, and forms
- Maintain document control systems and revision tracking
- Ensure procedures and records align with AS9100 requirements Audit Preparation Support
- Support preparation activities for AS9100 and NADCAP audits
- Gather and organize objective evidence and records for audits
- Assist with tracking and documentation of corrective actions Record and Traceability Management
- Maintain quality records required for certification and regulatory compliance
- Support traceability documentation for manufacturing and special processes
- Ensure records meet retention and accessibility requirements Internal Audit Support
- Assist with scheduling and coordination of internal audits
- Participate in internal audit activities as assigned
- Document findings and help track corrective actions Compliance Administration
- Maintain training records and qualification documentation
- Track calibration, certifications, and other compliance documentation
- Support data collection for management review and quality metrics Cross-Functional Support
- Work with engineering, operations, and production teams to ensure required documentation and records are completed
- Provide guidance on quality documentation requirements when needed Root Cause & Corrective Action Support
- Assist in investigating quality issues, non-conformances and audit findings.
- Support root cause analysis activities using structured problem-solving methods (5 Why, Fishbone, Etc.)
- Prepare and document corrective action responses to customer, internal, and certification audits
- Track corrective actions to closure and verify required documentation is completed
- Maintain records of corrective actions and ensure responses meet AS9100 and NADCAP expectations
Additional Skills & Qualifications Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment
- Familiarity with quality management systems
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
- Ability to manage records and compliance documentation
- Willingness to learn and contribute as required
- Strong work ethic
