CMM Programmer

Coon Rapids, MN:
Position Title:

CMM Programmer

  • Day Shift.
Education and Experience:

Fluent in Calypso programming with knowledge of PCM, curve and free form programming. Advanced knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2-year Technical College / Machine Trades / Quality Training is preferred.
  • 6 years of experience in quality assurance working with precision tooling.
  • Fluent in Calypso programming with knowledge of PCM, curve and free form programming.
  • Advanced knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

Monday-Thursday, 10 hours & Friday 5.5 hours.

Based on experience: $34

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the development of

CMM & VCMM

programs. Work with the Quality/Mfg. Engineering and Operations closely to ensure components meet customer specifications. Assist in developing, documenting, and maintaining all related processes and tasks around CMM and VCMM programming.

Key Responsibilities:

Generates programs via on and offline programming methodologies Maintains program changes (updates, improvements and rework) Creates inspection work instructions for the Automated Inspection equipment (CMM/VCMM) Responsible for programming, setup, and conducting CMM validations along with various other precision testing equipment, Vision Systems (VCMM), and Gages. Analyze data and provide feedback during qualification process Support/troubleshoot programs in production Assist in the development of fixture concepts and participate in gage and fixture development. Trains employees in the proper use of automated inspection equipment and documentation Interprets SPC results Performs basic maintenance of inspection equipment Implement and analyze artifact checks for various precision testing equipment Train Quality and Production Associates as needed to run

CMM/VCMM

programs. Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering and quality personnel as needed on technical issues Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Advanced knowledge of inspection equipment and maintenance Advanced level blueprint reading skills Advanced knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) Fluent in Calypso programming with knowledge of PCM, curve and free form programming. Technical writing skills Having the ability to create new work and training instructions Competent with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel), Minitab, QC Calc, and ERP systems Good problem solving with attention to detail, and decision-making skills Ability to perform visual inspections using microscopes Ability to quickly shift priorities to support changes in workload Organizing / managing multiple requirements and deadlines Ability to provide input and participate in department meetings Ability to cross train when required High school diploma or equivalent (GED) 6 years of experience in quality assurance working with precision tooling 2-year Technical College / Machine Trades / Quality Training is preferred

Compensation and Benefits Overview:

Starting Pay Range for this position is $34

  • 42/Hour.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with applicable county or city regulations if they exceed the listed range. Actual pay rates are determined based on various factors, including but not limited to, local labor market conditions, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language proficiency, and other job-specific qualifications.
