Job Title:
Scale Operator Job Description The Scale Operator is responsible for grading incoming and outgoing products using scales and test labs. The role involves weighing and probing trucks, conducting general inspections, and entering truck information into the computer system. Additional duties include performing tests on incoming grain, creating Certificate of Conformance documents, and maintaining FSQ and USDA documentation. Responsibilities Grade incoming and outgoing products using scales and test labs. Weigh and probe trucks, including conducting general inspections. Enter truck information into the computer system. Perform tests on incoming grain and create COA documents. Check trucks in and out, ensuring all documentation is maintained. Maintain FSQ documentation and USDA documents. Manage the annual machine calibration schedule and coordinate with vendors. Conduct walk-around inspections in the production facility. Ensure operators follow GMP standards. Handle any specialized customer documentation. Essential Skills Experience in packing, packaging, inspection, data entry, and general labor. Knowledge of bulk loading and quality assurance. Proficiency in visual inspection and data entry. Basic machine operations skills (elevator screen, testing equipment), with training provided. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience working on a farm, elevator, or food processing/production facility is preferred. Basic computer data entry skills. High attention to detail for paperwork and product quality. Why Work Here? This position offers a fully trainable role with the potential to transition into a different position by summer. The work environment is generally laid-back except during the busy spring and fall seasons. Work Environment The role primarily takes place in the weigh station building around lab equipment, with occasional tasks requiring work at the bins and processing floor. Core hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday, with extended hours during harvest season, including weekends. Steel-toed boots are necessary, while other PPE is provided. Dress appropriately for weather conditions and physical activity. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Grand Forks, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
