Full Job Description SUMMARY:
Promote quality management throughout the plant to assure product quality levels are consistent with corporate standards and that products and technical services meet customer expectations. Continual improvement of manufacturing processes to increase quality, reduce waste, and improve efficiencies. Satisfy regulatory agency requirements and reduce product liability by managing the corporate quality program at the local level.QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 5+ years experience in Production of product, experience working with QC functions perferred. EDUCATION and/orEXPERIENCE
High School diploma or general education degree (GED)perferred, or five years of pipe manufacturing or Quality Control experience.COMPUTER SKILLS
Experience with computers and basic keyboarding skills.LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Have ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. 2. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb stairs, and to climb ladders and work at heights up to 50 feet. 3. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 4. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.ISSUE DATE

A WORK ENVIRONMENT
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and gloves. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Do line audits. 2. Does 24 hour drop area inspections, also including hydro tester drop area. 3.Performs the following test:
a. Rubber ring tests. B. Acetone test C. Flattening/stiffness test d. Impact/brittleness tests e. Quick Burst Test f. Long-term test g. Resin density & melt index i. Carbon black loading k. Joint integrity 4. Check pipe truck loading 5. File new specs and revisions in active books and canceled specs into canceled files. 6. Uses calipers, dail gauges, OD/ID tape, plug gauges and other hand measurement tools as required. 7. Checks the quality of finished goods for shipment and return goods for acceptance to stock. 8. Checks pipe inventory periodically and red circles damaged pipe to be removed from shipping stock. 9. Responsible for the inspection and testing of finished products and reject those products that are conforming to the finished product specification. 10. Take care of record keeping filing, I.E. inspections results, test data, daily file of "lot" data by extruder and product etc. 11. Lot sample and inspect rubber rings and other raw materials. 12. Collect hydro tester charts and records. 13. Make daily/monthly Q.C. inspection reports. 14. Investigate complaints regarding quality and/or performances of products. 15. Coordinates the maintenance of testing equipment and facilities. 16. Take care of printers. 17. Direct process control methods, including test procedures and frequencies to maintain quality level. 18. Participates in and recommends improvements in test methods and quality standards for new and revised products. 19. Maintains good housekeeping at all times. 20. Performs other miscellaneous jobs as directed. 21. Performs other related duties as required.Similar remote jobs
