In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all manufactured computer hardware, electronic devices, peripherals, and assemblies meet exact customer specifications, engineering drawings, and rigorous industry quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Inspect in-process and finished electronic products, including circuit assemblies, computer hardware, chassis, cabling, and peripheral devices for physical defects, workmanship, and assembly accuracy.
- Review and interpret complex technical documentation, assembly drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), customer order specifications, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Utilize specialized inspection tools, gages, and optical measurement equipment standard to electronics quality assurance.
- Accurately document inspection outcomes, record non-conformances, and maintain detailed quality logs and traceability records.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, engineering, and customer support teams to troubleshoot discrepancies and resolve technical quality issues.
- Recommend, initiate, and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives to increase first-pass yields.
- Serve as a senior technical resource on the floor, providing guidance, work verification, and peer training to Level I and Level II Quality Inspectors. Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required; technical degree or vocational certification in electronics or quality assurance is a plus.
Experience:
5+ years of hands-on quality inspection experience within an electronics, electro-mechanical, or computer hardware manufacturing environment (or equivalent proficiency at a Quality Specialist level).
Technical Skills:
- Demonstrated familiarity with electronics quality standards (such as IPC-A-610 or related workmanship criteria).
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and cross-reference blueprints, schematics, engineering changes, and procedure manuals.
- Proficiency in collecting, recording, and analyzing quality inspection data.
Problem-Solving & Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills; capability to evaluate technical non-conformances and solve problems in novel situations.
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
