Full Job Description Description:
SUMMARY Assure that products sent to our customers are in conformance to requirements by performing inspection duties that include, but are not limited to: dimensional verification of components and assemblies, verification of quality documentation, witness of product testing, visual examination of product, technical assistance to outside suppliers, engineering and operations, and working with customer inspectors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Performs Final inspections of Manufactured product. Understand and comply with all safety, environmental, quality, and ELS Company Policies. Must know and understand the Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality System Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures, and Work Instructions. Log and generate scrap, NCR and other departmental reports for analyzation. Inspect process and paperwork on the production floor to ensure procedural standards are being followed. Ensure all working gages on the production floor are properly tagged, and in good condition. Performs functional tests on piece parts. Performs inspection of assemblies. Perform Visual Inspection of components and assemblies in accordance with applicable documents. Various other Quality related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required, and a minimum of three years work related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE
Familiar with, and knowledgeable in the use of, the typical measuring tools used for mechanical inspection such as dial calipers, micrometers, hardness testers, optical contour projector, hard gauges, and Gagemaker Mic-Trac system. Familiar with current health, safety & environmental (HSE) training as per division training matrix Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote safe operations Knowledge of computer hardware and software such as Microsoft Word and Excel, including programming used for Quality Control and Inspection activities. Ethical business practices Applicable PPE required to complete assigned tasks Must have a working knowledge of high school mathematics including algebra and trigonometry. Familiar with Quality Systems and requirements SKILLS Must be detail oriented. Reading and understanding specifications and other work related documents Identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and recommend solutions Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance Must be able to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, drawings, schematics, diagrams, sketches, and / or specifications
ABILITIES
Ability to safely operate, and maintain the equipment used in the daily performance of their activities Ability to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees Able to work with colleagues in creating a team working environment. Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem and communicating it to a supervisor Ability to see details at close range (Jaeger 2 or equivalent) Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted Accurately complete/maintain necessary reports / records in a timely and legible manner, according to applicable procedures and/or work orders Commit to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals Organize tasks and responsibilities in manner that maintains production output standards Use time efficiently Able to work with a minimum of supervision. Communicate effectively within and across departments Deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events Read, write, speak, and understand English so as to have effective written and verbal communication skills Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
