Your future belongs at the home of the Excellent Chicken… Bell & Evans! Job Summary Bell & Evans is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Tray Inspector to join our production team. The Tray Inspector is responsible for inspecting poultry products and trays to ensure they meet Bell & Evans' quality, packaging, and food safety standards. This position involves working with raw poultry products and performing a variety of production tasks, including inspecting, weighing, labeling, packing, and moving products. Team members may also be required to assist in other production departments based on business and staffing needs. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a commitment to food safety and quality, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Inspect poultry products and trays to ensure they meet established quality and food safety standards. Identify and immediately report product defects, contamination, foreign material, damaged packaging, or other quality concerns. Use equipment to sort, weigh, and label poultry products accurately. Fold liners and ensure trays are properly closed and sealed. Inspect trays to ensure products are properly positioned, packaged, and labeled. Use automated equipment or manually palletize completed trays. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company food safety, quality, sanitation, and safety procedures. Work safely around industrial equipment and production machinery. Assist with other production duties as assigned by supervision. Be willing and able to work in other departments and positions as production and staffing needs require. Maintain a proactive approach to identifying and addressing safety and quality concerns. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Work in a variety of environments, including hot, cold, wet, and noisy areas . Work around raw poultry and industrial production equipment. Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Perform repetitive movements involving the arms, wrists, and hands. Frequently bend, reach, lift, push, and pull as required. Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds . Follow all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and food safety requirements. Qualifications Education & Experience Previous poultry production experience preferred. Previous experience in a food manufacturing or production environment preferred. High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Skills & Requirements Strong attention to detail. Ability to identify and report quality concerns promptly. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to learn different production processes and work in multiple departments as needed.
