Job Summary Are you an experienced Quality professional with a strong background in food manufacturing? We're hiring a Quality Control Specialist for our food manufacturing client in Mountville, PA. In this role, you'll investigate quality concerns, support audits and inspections, oversee critical monitoring programs, and help drive continuous improvement across the facility. You'll also provide guidance to the Document Control Assistants and work closely with production and other teams to keep quality systems running smoothly.

AM, Monday-Friday Responsibilities:
Oversee Document Control Assistants and ensure production and material records are accurately reviewed, completed, filed, and retained according to quality system requirements. Develop, write, and revise Quality Control SOPs and records while monitoring procedural changes, non-conformances, and corrective actions for compliance. Investigate and document customer complaints and quality issues, including preparing CAPA reports, supporting third-party audits and inspections, and assisting with supplier non-conformance reports. Manage quality and food safety programs, including Glass and Plastic Monitoring, Belt Inspections, product holds, retain samples, pest control, sanitation validation, GMPs, Food Safety, and Food Defense protocols. Lead daily sensory evaluations and monitor finished product quality while supporting supplier monitoring, product testing, recalls, traceability exercises, and other quality-related activities. Collaborate with production, sanitation, maintenance, and R&D teams to resolve quality concerns, support new QC team members, assist with customer visits and audits, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Science-related degree or diploma, such as food science, chemistry, microbiology, or pharmaceutical studies, with at least 3 years of food industry Quality experience. HACCP qualification, ideally at an advanced level, with experience in food manufacturing quality systems and regulatory compliance. Experience writing SOPs and customer complaint reports, as well as conducting direct and root-cause investigations of non-conformances. Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with product specifications, production records, documentation, and quality requirements. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, multitask, communicate effectively, and provide support across different shifts as needed, including occasional weekends. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, along with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform required standing, walking, stair climbing, sitting, typing, and repetitive movements.
