A day in this role Picture your morning in the lab, prioritizing test queues for compounds, wire, and cable assemblies. You calibrate and run electrical and mechanical tests, verify that inspection activities meet ISO 9001-driven Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, and document results with precision. By mid-morning, you're on the production floor supporting a line changeover and performing a focused process audit. After lunch, you join the Quality Engineer and Quality Manager to dissect a customer complaint, help define corrective actions, and plan follow-up verification. You train an associate on inspection equipment, data entry, and required tests before preparing for a supplier audit review. You wrap up with a Continuous Improvement and 6S walk, capturing opportunities to drive safer, more efficient operations. What you'll impact Oversee and execute testing of compounds, wire, and cable assemblies in manufacturing and laboratory settings. Ensure production processes and inspection activities align with
QMS/ISO 9001
requirements. Assist with complaint analysis; coordinate and track corrective actions as directed by the Quality Engineer/Manager. Support production start-ups and changeovers; perform process audits. Contribute to Continuous Improvement, Safety, and 6S initiatives. Train associates to use inspection equipment, enter data accurately, and complete required testing. Interact with customers (onsite/offsite) and suppliers regarding audits, certifications, and purchased material concerns. Perform additional quality-related duties as assigned by the Quality Manager. What you bring Hands-on experience with wire and cable testing, including electrical and mechanical methods. Ability to work independently and collaboratively; strong multitasking and prioritization. Technologically savvy with strong computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office. Sound technical judgment, analytical problem-solving, and a drive to lead projects to closure. High energy, urgency, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. Background preferred Minimum 5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment. Quality systems auditing exposure. Proven team contributor with a strong floor presence. Experience with wire and cable is a plus. Education Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
